Nurtec is not proved to be ...If you stop Nurtec and it goes away, for sure report to the company and/or FDA as a side effect/adverse event. Fortunately you don't have to taper off Nurtec- I'm in the process of trying to figure out if I'm having a side effect so I just stopped taking it last week. Edit: apparently there is some question as to cardiac effects of blocking CGRPBut now, 20 years of experience strongly suggests that taking triptans daily does not cause any serious long-term side effects. I do not suggest that they cannot or do not cause serious side effects – they can and do and are contraindicated in patients with coronary artery disease and strokes, but in healthy people they are very safe..
